It’s Okay to Have an Off Day

Repeat after me: It’s okay to have an off day.

You don’t need to be at the top of your game for your entire life.

Forgive yourself for the minor slip-ups where you don’t make your writing schedule.

And make sure you celebrate when you do.

Especially when you’re feverish, swollen, and sore.

Like me.

Not Apologizing, but Apologizing

I’m not going to finish working on my super awesome secret post today, folks. I’m sorry. Let’s aim for Thursday or Friday, as long as I’m not feeling like this.

Instead, I’m going to type up these ~150 words, take a few Advil, call out of work, and go back to sleep.

Everything hurts.

But.

I still got up at 4:30 and wrote my morning blog post.

If I can do that, feeling like this, you can do anything today. Get up and get writing. Your day awaits.

Edit: I ended up going to work because I’m a sucker for pain. And because I feel some sort of responsibility or some such rot. Also, I may have bullied myself into going. “If you can write a blog post, you can go to work.” Damn you, self motivation!
